2024 Enrollment Meeting Notes

09/04/24 - 7:00 PM - PLAY Preschool

• Meeting started by Ms. Kat Chace, the Acting Director and Teacher at PLAY Preschool and Taylor Morones, the Board of Directors President

  • The originally announced start date of Tuesday, September 17, may need to be postponed. More information will be shared as soon as it is available.

  • The need to postpone was an unexpected, recent development. Ms. Kat and the Board of Directors are doing everything they can to get the school up and running as soon as possible.

• Adeline Soto was announced as the new co-teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Adeline has a degree in Early Education and is so great, the kids will love her!

• Taylor put forward a call to vote in a new Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 School Year. Board positions were described and candidates were nominated or volunteered. All were approved by unanimous vote of all attendees.

  • President - Taylor Morones

  • Vice President - Esmerelda Soto

  • Secretary - Ashley Peach Bueche

  • Treasurer - Amanda Pobul and Joanna Cisneros

  • Participation Coordinator - Emily Kreisberg

  • Fundraising - To Be Determined

• Enrollment packets are available for all families and should be returned by September 10.

  • Return packets to PO Box 344, to Amanda Pobul at City Hall, or to Taylor Marones (714-403-4366).

  • If a completed medical/immunization form is delaying your enrollment packet submission, please omit the medical form and submit all other pages. Submit the medical/immunization form when complete.

• The enrollment packets contains Tina Kennedy Scholarship Fund Applications.

  • Applications must be received by Tuesday, September 10.

  • Applications can be submitted with the enrollment packet or separately to: PO Box 344, to Amanda Pobul at City Hall, or to Taylor Marones (714-403-4366).

  • Scholarship application information is kept strictly confidential, and will be reviewed only by the PLAY Board of Directors.

  • The Board will notify families of the status of their awarded scholarship amount by Friday, September 13.

• Updates on a school start date and general school information will be shared on one or all of the following channels:

  • Website (playpreschoolavalon.org) ‘News’ section.

  • Group chat/text chain will all families

  • Catalina Discussion Facebook Group

  • PLAY Parent Facebook Group

• The date for the first maintenance/clean up day is to be determined.
